LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The World Food Championships announced today that Sam’s Club® has joined its roster of sponsors by becoming the official supplier of competition meats and supplies for the four-day food festival and cooking competition, slated for Nov. 1-4 in the heart of Las Vegas. Grand Champions of both the Iowa State Championship and Up In Smoke will be eligible for this competition!
The World Food Championships will bring culinary champions from all walks of life into one arena so that they can square off for food supremacy and a prize purse of $300,000. Using a hybrid of sanctioned, celebrity and customized judging processes, The World Food Championships will identify winners in seven key categories of divisional cooking competitions, culminating in a Final Table face-off with celebrity food experts presiding as the chief judges.
“We’re excited to have one of the world’s most recognized warehouse clubs associated with our event,” said Mike McCloud, president of Trybe Targeting, the company that is producing the four-day event. “Sam’s Club has a strong relationship with food competitions throughout America, and their involvement in The World Food Championships will be well received by both food competitors and food enthusiasts.”
The 2012 WFC categories will feature classic American cuisine: barbecue, chili, burgers, sandwiches, side dishes, a Champions Challenge featuring winners of online recipe contests, and a World Chef Challenge open to some of the best chefs from America’s greatest food cities.
