The Judges School will be held March 3^rd at Hockenberg’s in Des Moines.  Mike & Teresa Lake will be our instructors.  Registration forms will be sent after the 1^st of the year – if you have someone that would like to take the class, please let Anne Rehnstrom know their name and email address.  (Click here for application)

1. May 26 & 27 is Smokin in the Junction in West Des Moines (Sat/Sun)
2. June 1 & 2 will be a new contest in Altoona – Stay Tuned!
3. June 15 & 16 is Lakefest in Storm Lake and is now KCBS sanctioned
4. June 15 & 16 is State Center’s contest (Pending date change to June 16 & 17)
5. June 22 & 23 is the Iowa State Championship in Marshalltown
6. July 3 & 4 is the contest in Whiting
7. July 20 & 21 is BBQ’Loo & Blues Too in Waterloo
8. July 27 & 28 is the Up in Smoke contest in Mason City
9. July 27 & 28 is the Westfair contest in Council Bluffs
10. August 18 & 19 is the Madison County BBQ Shootout in Winterset

On November 12th this year the Iowa BBQ Society held its 10th annual RIBS for Kids Day at the Cookies Food Headquarters in Wall Lake, IA where 45 young people from the Des Moines area, through the help of Urban Dreams, got a chance to spend the day with Speed Herrig and others learning about BBQ and enjoying fun activities.  Check out all the action by clicking on the link below.
